IN WALKS " THE REV "
A poem about Prison
Evangelist, Wyman Bragg Written
by inmate SAM - age 39 - incarcerated
since age 17
He's a big strong handsome man
with an attitude. He don't look like a preacher! ... he is one tough dude!! He don't judge -- and he don't tell us lies. He just tells it like it is -- hoping we'll open our eyes.
He holds our attention -- sometime
serious -- sometimes a clown, He says the LORD took his unlawful life and turned it upside
down, He says he gave up those habits like smokin', cussin', and drinkin', He says God gave him a clear mind to replace his stinkin' thinkin'...
He says he loves God so
much that he'll do whatever he's called to do. I believe him or he wouldn't be visiting us in this zoo. He says the LORD wants to penetrate our soul He says we can't escape him ... he LIVES in this hellhole
He
says God is Real -- his love is in these prison walls-- He says the Holy Sprit follows us through the prison halls-- He says the Word of God is here to feed us-- He says the Father in Heaven is here to lead us--
He
says God is a God of miracles - creator of all things-- He says God can pull light out of dark and turn paupers into
kings-- He says the LORD can pull dry land out of water --
ain't NOTHING he
can't do-- He says "Just imagine since he's your creator
what he would do
for YOU!!!
He says to receive God's
grace-- He says it can reach us even in this place. He says forgiveness is here for us to receive-- He says all we have to do is believe.
He says, "I've come here
today to bring you some good news." He says you can receive it or reject -- you have to choose. He says
the Lord understands all errors and can forgive all sins-- He says you can repent of the past and today new life begins.
He
prays, "May you all come to know God's love and seek your help from the Lord above." He prays, "May you never feel alone again for the Lord is standing here waiting ... just invite him in."
YES... THE REV
came like the mighty rushing wind. I prayed to God for help -- I never knew who he would send. But he's made the difference in the lives of me and my brothers, And I'll be forever thankful knowing he's doing the same for
others.
I'm
not the same man since THE REV prayed for me. My body's still locked behind iron bars ... but my soul is
FREE!!!!! He brought the GOOD NEWS ... and gave us a choice-- I chose to receive the Lord .. and I'll forever rejoice!!!!! |
